Israel working on legalizing downloading
According to reports, members of the Israeli government are set to present a bill that would legalize the downloading of copyrighted material. Losses generated by downloading will instead be made up for through levies. Although levies may not be considered the fairest means of doing things (by assuming every use of a levied form of technology is one that infringes), it will take the pressure off the constant call for cracking down on online behavior – which is something we’re seeing all over the world at the moment. This act has been on the cards for a while, but has now garnered tremendous support amongst Israeli philantrophers and politicans, amongst others.
