UK mobile network allows customers to use data roaming in the States for free
UK-based mobile network Three has thrown down the gauntlet after announcing that customers will no longer have to pay data charges while in the US. Although carriers across Europe (and not just the UK) are offering reduced roaming charges within the EU after a change in legislation, Three is the first to go beyond European borders. The US is just one of ten countries the service is being offered to, with the list also including countries like Indonesia and Sri Lanka. Along with this, Three is set to roll out 4G across the UK, intending to cover 50 cities by the end of 2014, and 98 percent of the population by the end of 2015.
