Netflix has started streaming season 2 of House of Cards in 4K HD, as well as some documentaries. Users had already noted that scenes in the hit show had already started looking brighter and more colorful, owing to the new HD format. This update comes after the company had announced the switch to 4K last year, with TV giants like Samsung and LG scurrying to meet these standards and issuing new sets capable of that sort of format. While the service is being rolled out to all Netflix users, including international ones, the service is limited to TVs with HEVC/H.265 decoding capabilities built in. The company also recommends a minimum of 15Mbps for 4K streaming purposes.
