Facebook Looking to Launch Mobile Ad Network

Facebook is reportedly planning to introduce a mobile ad network at its F8 conference at the end of the month. This should come as no surprise after Facebook started testing ads in third-party mobile apps earlier this year, which seems to imply that it will shortly stop using external ad platforms. The social network plans to appeal to publishers and developers by using its database for better ad targeting. This follows rival social network Twitter’s acquisition of MoPub, which showcases the microblogging’s new focus on mobile ads – MoPub is the world’s largest mobile advertising exchange. Facebook has yet to respond to requests for comment on its new plans.
